I have too much time on my hands...

I dug out the plasticine yesterday and had a go at some modelling. Been ages since i had a pop at it and i'd forgotten how much fun it is. You kinda switch off as your doing your thing and before you know it time has flown by. Came up with this mole which looks more like a rat to me. Next time i will be digging out some reference material me thinks.... Wish the mole moved thats the next step you see. He is a blue belly button fluff miner and is searching for the finest strands of fluff so he can knit some mittens for his sweet heart. Its a tale of mystery, love, courage and belly fluff!!

Got some more things to look at that might make you smile.

Ok this is a silly martial art piece thats inspired by Fist of the North Star. If you've seen the anime then you will understand but for others who havent i will explain abit. The film is just plain bonkers with ridiculous dialogue and crazy action. You get kung fu meat heads hitting people left right and centre. Exploding heads everywhere and lots of silly fun. We decided to cook up our own bit of silly dialogue so off we went into the local hills and filmed this silly short. Its not meant to be serious.. you should see the out-takes we got :)

This is nearly all of the Bosko animation for the John K tutorial on beats. I have to link it all and add missing frames but you can see it coming along. Got used to drawing his cheeky face now so i managed to do these pretty quick HURRAY!!

I can see how working in a studio copying extremes and doing the inbetweens would improve you skills. Back in the day those guys must have improved so fast! Imagine 9 till 5 drawing away all year woo you would get so good.

Some more construction practice done in lunch at work. I love the poses they have so much expression in them just wish they were mine! If i keep working away some of the magic will rub off on me i hope. Other than that theres not much else im afraid as its been a busy week. Will knuckle down over the weekend and get some funky stuff up.. i hope!

I gotta get this finished for the website but them there sounds have been getting in the way.
This is my first go at Flash which i find a great program but also a real pain. For some reason i find the drawing tools really awkward.. maybe its me but you cant get the line you want when drawing things. Im gonna keep at it so i can make some cool stuff hopefully with some funky music behind it.

Gutted where is Popeye!?! Ordered the DVD awhile back and its not here yet. Dagnammit.

Its a Chuck Jones documentary thats great to watch but also gives you load to search and enjoy. Get hold of the looney tunes golden collection stuff and see some amazing work. Its the way they move that gets me, its so funny and fluid and makes me want to be as good as them... bastards!!

The only way to get good is to practice so up above are some sketches i did from the preston blair book. Still need to work on getting the construction right but its going good so far.

I gotta get to bed... but first i want to post these. I have loads of little bits n pieces of animation stuff i want to put up here so i might aswell get some on now.

Ok here is the Bosko dance... i had to rush this abit because i caught John's post late and wanted to get it online before he posts some more. Really cool bendy arms wiggling around, man i wish i had them arms ayeeee i could dance like a demon.

That was pretty sick.. i went into the fridge for some snacks and my housemates taramasalata dip was taking over with its yellow mould entrails everywhere YUK!

The best part is hes teaching people how to become great at animation as long as they actually do it and work hard. The latest one is a Bosko dance to copy and thats why i've started this blog. Im in the process of finishing it but i will post what i have so far... in a little while.

I will be putting up my doodles and other vids aswell.
